Courtroom Graphics

In order for satellite image evidence to have impact, it needs to be presented effectively and be tailored to its target audience. The Satellite Image Evidence (SIE) Group maintains a core capability to support our legal clients at trial through the generation of optimal courtroom graphics and presentation products and by providing expert witness services.

The SIE Group's graphics team seeks to maximize the impact of image evidence through the preparation of outstanding exhibits and materials custom-designed to meet our clients courtroom and other presentation needs. Output products include:

In some cases enlarged high resolution satellite photos alone may be sufficient in court, while in others, selectively annotated images may be necessary to focus the presentation on specific features or areas. "Before" and "after" images and time series exhibits can be especially effective in highlighting critical changes at a site, while helping to establish cause and effect. Regardless of the type of graphical exhibit, our experts understand courtroom presentations need to communicate with the lay person.

Along with image products, products derived from satellite or aerial imagery can also be effective in court, including extracted feature/thematic maps, 3D visualizations, computer models or animations, measurements or calculations, and reports. The SIE Group experts understand that each case in different, and will work with the trial team to produce products that are optimal for a particular case and designed for maximum impact. The preparation of all products is performed under controlled and secure conditions, ensuring authenticity and admissibility at trial.
