Image Processing and Enhancement

Archer Geographic offers comprehensive image processing and enhancement services on all remotely sensed imagery, including satellite imagery and aerial photography. Our analysts are expert in the digital image processing of panchromatic, color, color infrared, and multispectral data, as well as emerging hyperspectral, radar, and thermal imagery.

Archer Geographic's image processing services are aimed at preparing imagery for further enhancement and analysis, as well as inclusion in geographic information systems (GIS), and include:

  • Seamless image mosaicing

  • Geometric correction and orthorectification

  • Noise removal and atmospheric correction

  • Color correction and balancing

  • Image sharpening and data merging/fusion

In addition to basic image processing, Archer Geographic is on the leading edge of image enhancement techniques targeted at specific applications. Image enhancements include proprietary techniques developed in the production of our Navisat imagery to improve land and water detail simultaneously for coastal applications and provide an aesthetically superior image product. We provide contrast stretching and color enhancements, image sharpening, and textural/feature enhancements.

Image enhancement techniques for specific applications have been developed for urban areas, vegetation, shallow water bodies and coastal areas, and geological features. Specific applications include:
